We urge purchasers to conduct tests to determine final suitability for their specific end uses. No statement with respect to use is intended as a positive recommendation for such use, no guarantee of performance expressed or implied is made.
Antimony Suppression Effect
The Antimony Control Test demonstrates the effect of a separator leachate on the charge efficiency of the Pb electrode in the presence of 7.5 ppm antimony. A pure Pb electrode is cycled first in clean acid, then with the addition of separator leachate, and finally with the addition of Sb at 7.5 ppm. Higher charge efficiency indicates better Sb control.
Glassmat
ENTEK laminates 0.2 mm and 0.4 mm fibre glass retainer mat to the separator ribs using an acid resistant adhesive. Glass mat lamination evenly distributes pressure against the positive active material, enhancing battery performance and grid life.
Rib Profile Design
ENTEK makes industrial separators in three distinct rib profile types:

Straight rib
Design best suited to prevent gas entrapment in motive and stationary applications.
Sinusoidal (S-rib)
The S-rib design prevents vertical movement of the separators with respect to the lead plates in high-vibration applications. This separator is commonly used in motive applications.
Diagonal
Diagonal profiles are designed to deliver good prevention of gas entrapment of the straight rib profile while preventing vertical movement of the separator with respect to the lead plates like the s-rib design. Used in both motive and stationary applications.
Mini-ribs on Back
ENTEK’s in-house profile design capability allows for customized rib profiles including 0.2-0.5mm mini-ribs on the negative side.
